Without timely road condition information, reacting to hazards becomes a perceptive gamble. Waiting until the vehicle encounters a hazard means it's too late to prevent mishaps. Without predictive data, some drivers will always be the first to detect risks like slips or skids, often at the cost of safety or efficiency. The main focus of Klimator’s collaboration with ZF was to combine Klimator's information with different sources of data reflecting road friction. The overarching goal was to test, implement, and evaluate predictive road condition data to get insights in advance. Thus it becomes possible to proactively mitigate risks, reducing the likelihood of accidents and ensuring smoother, safer journeys for all.
